Thanks for the brilliant essay, Fred. I wish everyone would read it. In fact, we, the serfs and peasant who serve Obama's Leviathon despite our desire for freedom and independence, are wakening from the stupor brought on by over-regulation, non-sensical rules, political crimes, political prisoners, and Amerika's insatiable appetite for war and conquest. We are beginning to feel the financial squeeze of Bidenomics and recognizing the terrorist activities of the USA, NATO, and how they are all part of the movement towards a One World Government.

The future of Ukraine and the independence of Russia, Transnistria, Hungary, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, and the USA are all tied up in Obama's final push to control the world.

There WILL be an uprising in opposition to the 4th Reich.

The Declaration of Independence was a revutionary statement, not a governing document. It was appropriate only because there was an existing 150 year old, high trust, and well-functioning American Community. Indeed, there were two European communities that were able to create a civilized compact in 1776. Independence does not make a community. Shared culture and mutually make a community. We no longer have shared culture.

Great post. The historian Pauline Meir wrote my favorite book about the Declaration. She pointed out that at the time people wrote and read differently than today, when news stories start with the main information first.

Jefferson intended that people assume that top part of the Declaration about equality and so on was just warm up. The real message was, "...these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown."

To be free from the tyranny of a distant, unjust, unaccountable government. That was the point. It should be ours also.
