Just weeks after five others received a similar verdict, three more pro-life activists have been found guilty of felonies that could land each of them in prison for up to 11 years. They also each face fines of up to $350,000. The activists — 74-year-old Joan Bell, 73-year-old Jean Marshall, and 41-year-old Jonathan Darnel — were indicted under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

The mainly peaceful Gramsci Long March: "However you choose to describe them - social justice warriors, virtue signalling liberals or ‘the woke’ - they have achieved a colonisation of every single institution of civil society in America. And all without firing a shot. They’ve not conquered the citizenry with bombs; they’ve hypnotised them with ex-cathedra incantations of pseudo-values so absurd that – only a few years ago – would have seemed like they must be just kidding." https://grahamcunningham.substack.com/p/invasion-of-the-virtue-signallers

Graham - where have you been in my life? Your essay about the virtue signalers is beyond top shelf.

Thank you for that warm endorsement! Why don't we do a free sub to each other's S'Stack (our audiences are probably quite similar)?

No, I had just wondered about this issue, which had gotten no coverage in the media except for 1 column on Gateway Pundit.

Thanks for the 'like' (about my swapping subscriptions with Frederick). But a bit puzzled. Are you suggesting doing same? Or have I misunderstood.

Great article, it clarified a lot. I think they are kidding themselves if they think Marxism can really replace religion, but they sure have undermined it. When facing death how many people will be comforted by the existence of Marxism? Also, many people have miraculous experiences, making atheism untenable. A co-worker had had an experience when he was in the Navy. He and some buddies were downtown, San Diego I think, when he absentmindedly stepped in front of a bus. He was suddenly pulled backed and found that his rescuer was "a girl in a baseball cap". He looked away and when he looked back, no girl. Many people have experiences like this and, though they will not convince you of the veracity of any sect, they don't fit with an atheist world view.

If we all make " woke jokes" we might be able to undermine wokeism a bit. Blonde jokes off the internet may be repurposed for this.

I think you are right about the Lefts emotional characteristics, but I think I would ad that they have a desire for power and to feel like they have moral and intellectual superiority. It's certainly easier than becoming morally and intellectually superior.

The English cultural critic Theodore Dalrymple (Anthony Malcolm Daniels, Dalrymple being a pen name) had this to say about the current infection of political correctness, with which we are currently saddled.

“Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

― Theodore Dalrymple
