Reminds me of Soylent Green and Blade Runner. I was not a huge fan of Twilight Zone, it was more my dad's weekly show, and he ruled the TV if he didn't work that shift, he worked Swing Shift. Well done.
Most people don't think or realize how shows or movies affect people. They can Traumasise, Scare, or cause PSTD. After Jeremy's murder, I watched no shows where there were murders or abuse of children. It still haunts me to this day. They are SUBLIMINAL PROPAGANDA NOW.
Your article explodes off the monitor. First, we are treated to a visit to our childhoods as we drink our morning coffee and fondly recall davenports. Next, we learn much about the series. Then we are brought back to Earth with a giant body slam. Whew.
You've worn me out, young man.
I just know enough about the moral fiber and intelligence of our nation to submit this for your consideration:
I was definitely more of a Twilight Zone watcher, because even at a young age, the Outer Limits terrified me because I could envision that as a future reality. As an aside, the best feature (looking back) of both those series (besides being prescient), is watching the early roles of some of my very favorite actors and actresses.
That was certainly a walk through memory lane with precise details. Then linking it to the past and modern police state. Well done.
Thanks Dave.

Great stuff!
💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved The Outer Limits, of course, it goes without saying I really liked Twilight Zone.
Your list of favorite actors sure brought back memories of a simpler time, when the "Hundred Year March" was only half completed. Oh the memories!
