Collectivist of the Year Award
Op-ed: California parents should be forced to swap their kids
Just a pesky family…
This nothingness into which the West is sliding is not the natural end, the dying, the sinking of a flourishing community of peoples. Instead, it is again a specifically Western nothingness: a nothingness that is rebellious, violent, anti-God, and antihuman. Breaking away from all that is established, it is the utmost manifestation of all the forces opposed to God. It is nothingness as God; no one knows its goal or its measure. Its rule is absolute. It is a creative nothingness that blows its anti-God breath into all that exists, creates the illusion of waking it to new life, and at the same time sucks out its true essence until it soon disintegrates into an empty husk and is discarded. Life, history, family, people, language, faith - the list could go on forever because nothingness spares nothing - all fall victim to nothingness.

On January 13, 2022, Ventura County Star posted an opinion piece by Joe Matthews titled “California should abolish parenthood, in the name of equity.” At first blush, this opinion piece appears to be satire. However, upon further investigation, it is clear. Joe is the consummate collectivist by checking out He/Him’s LinkedIn profile: California columnist/editor; Zócalo Public Square; co-president Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy; senior director, Arizona State University; author, People’s Machine, and The California Crackup.
The openly Marxist writing of Joe Matthews in his hit piece trashing families bestows him the first Frederick R. Smith Speaks Collectivist of the Year Award.
California should abolish parenthood in the name of equity
Op-ed: California parents should be forced to swap their kids
Below, please see a limited selection of text from Joe Matthews’ op-ed followed by Fred’s comments.
Joe Matthews
If California is ever going to achieve true equity, the state must require parents to give away their children. Today’s Californians often hold up equity — the idea of a just society completely free from bias... Gov. Gavin Newsom says he makes decisions through “an equity lens.” Institutions … have publicly pledged themselves to equity, along with diversity and inclusion.
Ah ha, the big three: Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE). Terminate this foul-smelling pit of hell pus. The collective ecosphere takes many words to replace one: equality. We celebrated our differences and strived for equality (not equity) in a sane world under the natural law of the land. We instinctively know each has different talents and capabilities. Rather than robotic-like units in a collectivist society, it is a joy to embrace our unique skills and thus strive to be productive citizens.
But their promises of newly equitable systems are no match for the power of parents.
That is an apparent collective code to do away with the traditional family with Nasty Nanny State Nanny Care. Classic Marxism. Trash the traditional family as a racist construct like BLM’s initial website.
Fathers and mothers with greater wealth, education or other resources are more likely to transfer these advantages to their children, compounding privilege … As a result, children of less advantaged parents face an uphill struggle; social mobility has stalled; and democracy has been corrupted.
We shall inquire about the wealthy collectivist friends regarding the Marxist crapola called “compounding privilege.” Alternately, how about asking the vast majority of “professional” and obscenely wealthy commie sports players how they will strip the “privilege” from their children? Better yet, checking with wealthy and odious debased Hollywood friends might achieve some results. And that democracy thing; it is a dumbocracy.
And more Californians are giving up on the dream: A recent …. poll found declining belief in the notion that you can get ahead through hard work.
It is no wonder why there is a declining desire to work hard when tell-you vision programming provides mental masturbation for the masses. Specifically, the robotic notion that the government will take care of all your needs. Furthermore, the pogroms and policies of the Marxist academia and commie collectivist “education” system ensure a lazy population. Good work! Maybe we can have the documented undocumented invaders (DUIs) perform the labor here and let the enslaved Chinese subject to organ removal to make our goods. If you are wondering, friends have spotted DUIs in airports around the nation with government-issued brown envelopes. There is no need to run from these unvaccinated folk as the collectivists show compassion. Nevertheless, dare you to question the Covidian Cult, and you shall face white-wing domestic terrorist charges.
My solution is simple, and while we wait for the legislation to pass, we can act now… The rich should give their children to the poor, and the poor should give their children to the rich. Homeowners might swap children with … homeless …
Act now? Does the op-ed author have children to “swap?” Or better yet, how about tearing down that wall around Nancy’s castle to share the space with the DUIs with no COVID test, mRNA therapy, or mask? It is the compassionate “common good” thing we know. Fred’s solution: expose the crummy commie Marxist projection and the rest of the partnering comrades’ “ideas” encompassing this pile of vomit. And unlike the “inclusive” collectivists, Fred will be compassionate and not dox the op-ed author. Furthermore, Fred will fight to the end for the op-ed author and fellow traveler’s right to free speech, such as the goofy pile of Commie nonsense in the subject op-ed.
Now, I recognize that some naysayers, hopelessly attached to their privilege, will dismiss such a policy as ghastly, even totalitarian. But my proposal is quite modest — a fusion of traditional philosophy and today’s most common political obsessions.
Fantastic linguistic gymnastics! The above words cancel out with the resulting sausage enrobed in a natural pig’s intestinal casing called “commie fusion.” How about the op-ed writer’s “privilege status!”
In his “Republic,” Plato adopted Socrates’ sage advice that children “be possessed in common, so that no parent will know his own offspring or any child his parents” in order to … create citizens loyal not to their sons but to society. To replace parents, Plato offered compulsory education and … health regimes for pregnant women and children aged 5 and younger.
Have to admit this one hits the nail on the head. Indeed much of the crummy commie philosophy of today has its roots in select passages of the original collectivist ideas of yesteryear.
Today, universal orphanhood aligns with powerful social trends that point to less interest in family. Californians are slower to marry and are having fewer children. Our birth rate is at an all-time low. … My proposal also should be politically unifying, fitting hand-in-glove with the most cherished policies of progressives and Trumpians alike.
More inane Marxist linguistic gymnastics. It is beyond reason to hint that parents are willing to give their children to the state. Maybe the inspiration for this op-ed is Logan’s Lesson.
The left’s introduction of anti-racism and gender identity in schools faces a bitter backlash from parents. Ending parenthood would end the backlash, helping dismantle white supremacy and outdated gender norms. Democrats also would have the opportunity to build a new pillar of the safety net: a system for raising children called “Foster Care for All.”
Nothing more than the racist rambling of an anti-racist with obvious hetero-family-phobic tendencies. To take children away from their parents as a fix to racism is nothing short of 1984 on steroids. Maybe he and his Comrad friends might like living at their Animal Farm.
Over on the right, Republicans are happy to jettison parents’ rights in pursuit of their greatest passions, like violating migrant rights. Once you’ve gone so far as to take immigrant children from their parents and put them in border concentration camps, it’s a short walk to separating all Americans from their progeny.
Two wrongs do not make a right. Over on the left, Democrats are happy to incarcerate the unvaccinated and un-booby-trap boosted (DUIs get a pass). Furthermore, the so-called crummy-compassionate and diverse collectivists have the market for canceling parental rights. Indeed, our Maoist-Leninist-Marxist friends invented the Caustic Cancel Culture Pogrom. Let’s not forget Elián González.
Universal orphanhood also dovetails nicely with the pro-life campaign …. In fact, a suggestion from Justice Amy Coney Barrett … could overturn Roe v. Wade [that] inspired this column. She posited that … all 50 states now have “safe haven” laws allowing women to turn their babies over to authorities after birth…. merely make mandatory such handovers of babies to the state.
Mandatory? That is in direct conflict with the leftist “choice” mantra. But we broke the code! We know that the left and Nasty Neocons are the masters of linguistic gymnastics and champions of terrible and mean-spirited unconstitutional mandates. Indeed, this op-ed is the quintessential example.
Perhaps such coercion sounds dystopian. But just imagine the solidarity that universal orphanhood would create. Wouldn’t children, raised in one system, find it easier to collaborate on climate change…?
Solidarity in the collectivist hive. At least the author is open and honest about his love affair with Marxism. Remember, the collectivist’s tool, climate change (or the term of the month), ensures the hive has unlimited power and control. It is green on the outside and red on the inside—environmentalism on steroids.
Now, I don’t expect universal support for universal orphanhood. A few contrarians, lost … between American extremes, might object to this rational proposal … They might argue that pursuing your own conception of family is fundamental to freedom.
The term “universal orphanhood” says it all! Furthermore, “rational proposal” is the height of hubris for such an inane pile of mind mush. Indeed, each cogent person knows that a traditional family unit is the bedrock of a thriving society. Furthermore, fatherlessness is the height of hubris.
They also may suggest that people don’t really want to start or finish at the same point in life.
Such a traditional, time-honored precept of self-defined destiny in society likely rubs the op-ed author the wrong way because of his apparent crummy commie “thought” processes.
They may even say that what we really desire is what … orphan … Annie demanded: “I didn’t want to be just another orphan, Mr. Warbucks. I wanted to believe I was special.”
This op-ed with its “rational” proposal suggesting that all children are orphans gives us an excellent (non) fix. It takes a village. One thing is spot on: we are all special.
But don’t pay those critics any mind because they just can’t see how our relentless pursuit of equity might birth a brave new world.
“Equity” replaces the crummy communist term “social justice.” A Brave New World? No, it is cowardice, laziness, and Marxism. An Animal Farm.
And here is Joe Matthews speaking at an Affordable Housing Conference in 2011:
Afterword
What a fantastic collectivist write-up by Mr. Matthews, bravo! Even more astonishing and frightening, Your Author personally knows people who would embrace the idea that the government should abolish parenthood in the name of equity. Fred feels “threatened” and “offended” by this outright Communist crapola, and what shall he do? Cower like our collectivist friends? Never! Man and women up; help stamp out hetero-family-phobia. A person threatened and offended by the facts tells us that such an individual is a card-carrying member of the Progressive Union of Marxists LLC (PUML). My collectivist friends, it is high time to get stock in USSA Gulag LLC Enterprises (UGLE), so you can sit back and enjoy the “evil conservatives” getting their due for resisting your beloved Marxism. It will be the new spectator sport! Nevertheless, do Pummel (he/him) and Ugly (it/them) have ANY compassion remaining in their cesspool?
It is high time to expose the madness and shove it right back in the face and down the throat of this vile collectivist pus oozing out from every (dis) organized element of society. Military included. For sure, my father is spinning in his grave.
As long as we allow the crummy-commie-Marxist ecosystem to control the narrative, this is what we get, my rationally thinking friends. It is high time we, the cogent folk, cancel the Caustic Cancel Culture Pogrom. It is Madness Made to Order that needs to end up in the dustbin of history. The big Matzo Ball in the madness: the government will fix it—what a splendid contradiction as the vast majority of the Leviathan pogroms are akin to a sinking ship.
