The Naked Communist
The Naked Communist is a book by W. Cleon Skousen (1913-2006). First published in 1958, the book presents a political and ideological analysis of Communism and its impact on the world. Skousen shows that Communism is a dangerous ideology that seeks to destroy the freedoms and rights of individuals and replace them with a totalitarian state.
The Naked Communist thoroughly examines the communist ideology and its goals. It critiques the political and economic systems of communist countries such as the Soviet Union, China, and Cuba. Skousen also discusses the various tactics used by the Communist Party to achieve its goals, including subversion, propaganda, and infiltration.
One of the book’s strengths is its clear and concise writing style. The author presents his arguments logically and straightforwardly, making it easy for readers to understand the dangers of Communism. The book is also well-researched, with extensive quotes from communist leaders and comprehensive documentation of the impact of Communism on various countries.
The Naked Communist was an underground hit selling two million copies. Copies ended up in homes, the White House libraries, the CIA, and the FBI.1 Skousen reviews the intrigue associated with the personalities of Elizabeth Bently, Whittaker Chambers, Alger Hiss, and more. His book details the history of Communism and its infiltration into our political system. In 2017, Skousen updated his book with Volume Two.
Skousen was an American author, cogent2 political theorist, and lecturer. He was born in Canada and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Skousen was a former FBI agent and served as a police chief in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was also a professor of constitutional law and political science.
Skousen was a prolific writer, covering many topics, including politics, history, economics, and religion. He is best known for his book The Naked Communist, a critique of Communism and its impact on the world. The book became a best-seller in the United States and was widely read and discussed during the Cold War.
After searching unsuccessfully for concise literature about the communist threat, Skousen saw the urgent need for a comprehensive book to guide the American conversation. So, he distilled his FBI experience, decades of research, and more than one hundred communist books and treatises into one clarifying, readable volume. It became a compendium of American values and earned praise from President Ronald Reagan, Glenn Beck, and Ben Carson. Readers gain a unique insight into the inner workings of Communism—its appeal, history, primary and unchanging concepts, and even its secret timetable of conquest.
The Corporatocracy claims that Skousen was controversial, and scholars and political opponents often criticized his ideas and writings.3 Nevertheless, his works continue to be widely read and discussed, and he remains an influential figure in conservative political circles.
Of course, the mainstream calls the Naked Communist a “... anti-communist book by [an] American faith-based political theorist….” As we can see, that statement is typical collectivist linguistic gymnastic (sophistry). The book has been reprinted several times, most recently in a 2017 printing through Izzard Ink Publishing.
In March 1961, the 8th edition included the 45 goals of Communism. They were gleaned from testimony given to Congress by various scholars and from the writings of current or former Communists. In 1963, these 45 goals were read into the Congressional Record by Albert S. Herlong, Jr. (D-Florida).
U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet Satellites.
Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the Germany question by free elections under the supervision of the U.N.
Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the U.S. has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
Do away with all loyalty oaths.
Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent office.
Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
Gain control of all student newspapers.
Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, and policy-making positions.
Gain control of key positions in radio, T.V., and motion pictures.
Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive meaningless art.”
Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and T.V.
Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as “normal, natural, and healthy.”
Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”
Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of “the big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture—education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.
Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws to gain coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks, and retarding of children to the suppressive influence of parents.
Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use “united force” to solve economic, political, or social problems.
Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
Internationalize the Panama Canal.
Repeal the Connally Reservation so the U.S. cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.

In the video, Skousen talks about the age of hope with the fall of the Iron Curtain. He was joyous based on the news of his day. However, he would be astounded if we were alive today to see how most of the 45 goals are alive and well, and many are complete. As shown below, it continues unfolding today under a new form of collectivism, using many Communist tactics under the Corporatocracy.
The Transition
The influence of the Communist Party in the United States was significant during the 20th century, although its influence has since diminished. However, Anatoliy Golitsyn in Perestroika Deception shows us that the reforms undertaken by the Soviet Union during the Gorbachev era, particularly the policy of Perestroika (economic restructuring), were part of a larger strategy to deceive the West. That ultimately undermined its political and economic systems.
Under the Perestroika Deception, the Soviet leaders recognized that the country’s economy and political system were unsustainable and sought to initiate a program of reforms to help modernize the country and improve its economic performance. However, at the same time, they also sought to use the reforms as a cover for a larger strategy of deception and subversion aimed at weakening the West and ultimately bringing about its collapse.
Perestroika Deception illustrates how the Soviet leadership used various tactics to achieve this end, including disseminating disinformation, infiltrating Western political and economic institutions, and manipulating public opinion. The goal of this strategy was to create a false impression of Soviet weakness and vulnerability while at the same time building up the country’s military and economic capabilities.
Various pieces of evidence support this claim, including many key members of the Soviet leadership, including Gorbachev himself, who had ties to the KGB and other Soviet security agencies. Various instances of Soviet deception and subversion in the years leading up to the collapse of the Soviet Union, such as the Soviet support for left-wing guerrilla movements in Latin America and Africa.
The end of the cold war and the breakup of the Soviet Union decreased Russia’s influence in our internal and corporate affairs. We are now primarily under a covert attack from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
The CCP is the ruling political party of the People’s Republic of China. It was founded in 1921 and has been in power since the end of the Chinese Civil War in 1949. The CCP is a Marxist-Leninist political party that advocates for socialism with Chinese characteristics. Like the Corporatocracy, it involves a mix of state ownership of key industries and markets-based economic reforms.
Much of the Communist worldview under the Corporatocracy has subtly infected virtually every element of organized society. As an unholy alliance, it cancels cogent thinking, the natural family, medical freedom, national sovereignty, sound money, and the incentive to work. It is all about the transition of Communism into a warped WOKE worldview.
Today, a fusion of the left, middle, and neo-right seems to have a common-ist cause: Ukraine. A good term for this strange amalgamation is “Woke LLC.” Ukraine’s leadership is the poster child of the progressive ecosystem, while Russia has rejected much of the woke worldview. The conflict in Ukraine is a perfect money-making machine, the Woke Proxy War (WPW).
Of course, Putin’s “Special Operation” is a war of aggression. The past corrupt business melding of the Bidens, whispers of bio labs in Ukraine, and the expansion of NATO add up to “poking the bear.” Meanwhile, the military-industrial complex and the money circus use the WPW to get their crumbs from you and me. Specifically, the money masters get their fix via inflation caused by creating fiat money to fuel the WPW. The leader of “that” country (begins with a U) is the king of wokeness. There I said it.
Also, it is curious that the WPW started as the Covid narrative died out. The money masters squeezed the last drop out of mother Covid, so a new honey pot popped up. Meanwhile, the anti-war crowd is conspicuously absent.
Analysis
The Black Book of Communism further demonstrates the dangers Skousen conveys. First published in France in 1997 as Le livre noir du Communisme, The Black Book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression, academia brands it as a “controversial” work. The English version, published in 1999 by Harvard University Press, continues to stir the “controversy” mantra. The chief editor, Stéphane Courtois, concludes that the many forms of Communism were no better than Nazism. He avers that both systems were more efficient at killing than at governing. The occult evil of Nazism caused the direct genocide of six million people. (Some references show 21 million-plus for all deaths resulting from the Nazi regime). The book details 100 million Communist death tolls.
According to Marxist logic, the fiat-oppressed cult is “morally” correct in all circumstances. Most people do not dare to question the authenticity of their claims. This idiotic logic twists the criteria for judging what is moral. Class consciousness occurs as group identities and sentiments intensify in Marxism, Leninism, and Stalinism. People unconsciously abandon the traditional standards of good and evil. They replace cogent thinking with groupthink. This has manifested in totalitarian Communist and uber-socialist states. The “oppressed” justified killing the landowning and capitalist “oppressors.”
In concert with the above Communist playbook, today, under the Corporatocracy, we live in a world of overarching propaganda. There, the legacy media, in concert with the FBI, relegate “conservatives” to the domestic terrorism watch list. That explains why the Corportocacy rarely mentions “liberal” since it is an overarching embodiment of left-wing. Thus, thanks to the Libs of Lazy Legacy Media, anything counter to the alt-left narrative must be torched in the pickled brain mind of the masses.
Of course, as we read above, the Corporatocracy paints Skousen as a rigid-rabid right-wing fundamentalist Christian. On the other hand, collectivist “Christianity” is an acceptable form of (so-called) religion. That alt-left pseudo-religion cult promotes communist-like wickedness, including but not limited to:
Population reduction
Green outside and red on the inside
Globalism
Open southern border
Hatred of America
Love of world government
Neo-Marxism
The above witches’ brew is nothing short of Communism on steroids under the woke banner. The “packing label” of this commie KoolAid includes the disclaimer “distributed by” the Corporatocracy (a personification of Woke). Conclusion
For cogent (non-woke) folk, The Naked Communist is an essential and thought-provoking book that provides a critical perspective on Communism and its impact on the world. The author’s arguments and insights are still relevant today because of the new collectivist fusion between government, corporations, and other nongovernment entities (the Corporatocracy).
The Naked Communist is a valuable resource for anyone interested in understanding the dangers of Communism and the importance of protecting individual freedom. It is the foundation of the new woke worldview. It has transitioned in a grande style as we see the fruits of Communism under the glittering woke label.
